One company for your lift: what Servel joining DBS means

Behind the merger lies a simple idea: less structure and more service. We explain what it means for communities of owners, property managers and the team.

The integration of Ascensores Servel into DBS Elevación is more than a change of name. Behind it is a decision by the Schindler group to streamline its business in Spain and, above all, to give you a better service. Here’s why, and what it means for you.

Why Servel and DBS are joining forces

The merger has three very specific aims:

  • More efficient management. Bringing two companies together makes better use of resources (people and materials) and means less effort spent on bureaucracy and more on work in the field.
  • Greater financial strength and backing. A single, stronger company can meet its commitments more quickly and better support its customers’ projects.
  • A simpler structure. A single management team means faster decisions, closer to what really matters: keeping your lift running.

What’s more, combining the two companies avoids duplicated procedures and obligations, reduces costs and removes intermediaries. All of that shows in a more responsive service.

A single point of contact for everything

Previously, the work was split between companies. Now you have a single company for the whole lift lifecycle: maintenance, breakdowns, modernisation and installation. One phone number, one contract and the same people who know you.

Continuity for communities of owners and property managers

Contracts remain in force and service is not interrupted at any point. If you’re a property manager or the president of a community of owners, you keep the same direct contact as always, now with more resources behind it and without losing the personal touch.

Continuity for the team (and therefore for your lift)

The merger keeps every job: DBS takes on Servel’s employment rights and obligations (including pension commitments), with no changes to working conditions or workplaces. Why does this matter to you? Because it means the technicians who know your lift are still the same people. And they now train within Schindler’s continuous training programme, across all areas and on lifts of any make.

Your rights, protected

In a transaction like this, the law protects customers, suppliers and creditors: Servel’s rights and obligations pass in full to DBS. Nothing you had signed is lost along the way.

The backing of a leading global brand

DBS is part of Schindler, one of the largest lift manufacturers on the planet. That means spare parts guaranteed for years (including for older equipment), proven technology and the financial strength of a manufacturer, with the personal service of a local company.
