At the end of 2025, Ascensores Servel became part of DBS Elevación. Both companies already belonged to the Schindler group (the world’s largest manufacturer of lifts and escalators) and they are now joining forces under a single brand to serve Catalonia.
One of the long-standing names in Catalan lifts
Servel, together with Índelver and Eledevall, is one of the companies that have installed and maintained lifts in Catalonia for decades. With this merger, all of them are now part of DBS Elevación: one team, one brand and, behind them, the backing of a global manufacturer.
What exactly is it?
It’s a merger by absorption: DBS Elevación takes over all of Servel’s business, contracts and team. Servel ceases to operate as an independent company and its customers are now looked after by DBS, by the same people as always. The transaction takes effect from 1 January 2025, so in practice we were already working as one company.
The whole lift lifecycle, under one roof
The resulting company covers the complete lifting cycle: installation, assembly, repair, maintenance, modernisation and refurbishment of lifts, goods lifts, escalators, moving walkways and automatic doors. It also covers the building work involved in putting a lift where there wasn’t one before. In other words: whatever happens to your equipment, whatever the make, we’ll sort it out.
What changes for you (very little)
If your lift was maintained by Servel, you don’t need to do anything. Your contract remains in force, the same technicians look after you and the breakdown numbers work as before. What changes is the name on the invoice and, above all, the strength you have behind you: DBS’s organisation and the backing of Schindler.
