ITC self-check

Does your lift meet the new ITC? Find out in two minutes

Answer a few simple questions about your lift and we'll tell you whether it's likely to meet the new regulations or whether it's worth having it checked. No jargon and no obligation.

How it works

What we'll ask you and what we'll tell you

Tell us about your lift

We’ll ask you a few quick questions: how old it is, whether it has a car door, how it levels with the floor, what type of controller it has and a couple of other things. That’s enough for us to give you a steer.

What we'll tell you

At the end we give you an indicative traffic light — looks up to date / worth checking / probably missing quite a lot — and a summary of the points to look at. It’s guidance, not a certificate: the only way to be sure is a proper inspection, which we offer free of charge.

Self-check

Check your lift in two minutes

Answer a few questions and we'll tell you whether your lift is likely to comply.

ITC self-check

This self-check is for guidance only and does not replace an official inspection.

Indicative result: it's worth having it checked.

From what you've told us, your lift is probably missing some of the safety measures required by the new ITC (for example, a lift car door, accurate levelling or two-way communication to call for help). Leave us your details and we'll send you the full picture; if you like, we'll carry out a free on-site check.

Indicative result: it looks fairly up to date.

We see no clear signs that it's missing the main measures, but this self-check is for guidance only: the only way to be sure is an on-site check, which we offer free of charge. Leave us your details and we'll confirm.

The real inspection

And now, the real inspection

If the self-check has left you with questions, we'll come and see it in person, with no obligation, and tell you exactly what your lift is missing and how to fix it.
